
The Ghanaian Embassy in Kuwait celebrated the country’s 68th Independence Day on Sunday evening, attended by various heads of diplomatic missions.
The event’s chief guest, Kuwaiti Minister of Justice Nasser Al-Sumait, praised the long-standing Kuwaiti-Ghanaian relations, recalling Ghana’s support during the Iraqi invasion and its contribution to Kuwait’s liberation. He wished continued success to Ghana on this special occasion.

Ghana’s Ambassador to Kuwait, Mohammed Habib Idris, highlighted the strong bilateral ties based on shared values of peace, stability, and development.
He emphasized the economic cooperation between the two nations, with Ghana being a key market for Kuwaiti products and Kuwait importing goods like gold, timber, and cocoa from Ghana.

The ambassador stressed the need to enhance economic collaboration through key agreements, including a $20 million strategic partnership signed in 2022 to fund projects in agriculture, education, and health.
Ambassador Idris also showcased Ghana’s growth prospects, pointing to investment opportunities in sectors like mining, energy, and agriculture.
He underscored Ghana’s stability, peaceful nature, and democratic commitment under President John Dramani Mahama, while calling for global peace and conflict resolution in accordance with international law.
